Peggy Dee received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, and a Master of Fine Arts from Northern Illinois University. Although her focus was in painting, she also studied photography, life drawing, sculpture, copper etching and lithography. She has taught and exhibited in and around the Chicago area for over two decades. She is a visiting professor at Northern Illinois University where she has taught charcoal, dry pastel, oil pastel, colored pencil, life drawing and painting. Peggy is also currently teaching painting I and II and advanced painting for independent study students at Elgin Community College. She maintains her own studio and works primarily with oil or acrylic on both paper and canvas. Her themes center on the strength and fragility of the human figure, utilizing still life objects and landscape elements to suggest her visual narratives.
